Technology Training
Nortel Data Networking Technology training builds a foundation on data products and solutions, covering topics such as Ethernet Fundamentals, IP Routing, Resiliency, and Switching.
Nortel Advanced Data Technology training focuses on WAN protocols, WLAN fundamentals, Multicast on Ethernet routing switches, security, network visibility, and QoS. This provides the technology background to understand the advanced features of the ERS product line.
Technology Certifications
Nortel professional certifications are available for the Nortel Data Networking Technology tracks. The specialist level exam is the 920-805, Nortel Data Networking Technology Specialist. The expert level exam is the 920-806, Nortel Advanced Data Networking Technology.
Nortel Exam Product Training
The specialist level Design training track introduces Nortel’s recommendations and best practices for designing a resilient, reliable and secure network using Nortel Ethernet Routing switches.
The expert level Design course challenges students by designing an Ethernet network capable of supporting Converged Networking for small, medium, and large enterprises.
The specialist level Nortel Support training track builds on the students understanding of Nortel’s recommended design and provides them the knowledge and hands in lab practice for installing and configuring ERS products in the network.
The expert level Support training takes a deep dive into the more advanced features of the products. Hands-in labs reenforce configuration procedures, analysis, and troubleshooting with the related management tools.
Product Certifications
Nortel professional certifications are available for the Nortel Converged Campus: ERS Solutions specialist level training tracks. The specialist level exam for design is 920-220, Nortel Converged Campus: ERS Solution. The Specialist level exam for support is 920-221, Nortel Converged Campus: ERS Solution Installation and Configuration. New expert level exams for design and support are coming later this summer.
Certification Credit
Nortel recognizes some third-party certifications as satisfying certain Technology or ERS certification exam requirements. The Nortel Certification team will work with individuals to confirm their third-party certification and provide credit toward Nortel Product Certification designations as appropriate.
